Re-Entry Program

RE-ENTRY PROGRAM

The Re-Entry Program is for applicants who do not have sufficient practice hours (600 hours in the last three-year period) or for individuals who have been subject to a disciplinary action which has resulted in a requirement for supervised practice. 

The SCOT Registrar and SCOT Registration & Licensing Committee review the Re-Entry applications and arrange the set-up of the SCOT Re-Entry Program.

The length of the Re-Entry Program is a minimum of 450 hours and can be completed on a full or part-time basis. The part-time program must be completed with a minimum of 20 hours per week and the program must occur over consecutive weeks.

While the applicant is participating in the SCOT Re-Entry Program, they will be provided with a Practising Licence with conditions.

Applicants who require the completion of the Re-Entry Program must allow for a minimum of one month for SCOT to arrange the set-up of the program.

Individuals who have previously held a practising licence, restricted practising licence, or non-practising membership with SCOT, must contact SCOT at admin@ssot.sk.ca to initiate the re-application process and to gain access to the re-application form.

New applicants must complete the following Electronic Application Form.

The application/re-application form and all accompanying documentation must be received by SCOT with full payment prior to receiving a Re-entry Forms and Documents

All required documents must be provided to complete the registration process. Incomplete applications will not be processed until all correct documentation and fees have been received.

The following documents are required for registration:

  • Resume

  • Name change verification (if the applicant’s legal name has changed since receiving their degree)

  • Notarized copy of the applicant’s occupational therapy educational degree or transcripts sent to SCOT directly from the university.

  • Evidence of English language proficiency.

  • National Occupational Therapy Certification Examination (NOTCE) Results

  • Regulatory History 

    • Regulatory History forms from all jurisdictions (including international jurisdictions) in which the applicant has practiced occupational therapy or been registered as an occupational therapist, sent directly from the regulatory body to SCOT. The following Regulatory History Form can be sent to each of the previous regulatory or licensing organizations for completion.

SCOT members who hold a practising or restricted practising licence are required to have $5 Million liability/malpractice insurance. SCOT does not endorse any insurance providers. Insurance may be provided by an employer or purchased through:

  • An independent insurance broker: a listing of Saskatchewan members is available through the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (www.ibac.ca)
